OUGD502 - Studio Brief 1 - Creative Cv

In comparison to my old CV which was simply boring, a lot more common and not very noticeable. I felt placing a different style which involved colour an a much better layout would benefit me more in standing out as well as involving more of my personality. Of course I would separate information on my current cv to the one I’ll use personally for my career as a creative.

The design creates a much more sleek, engaging visual. Applying 1 spot colour to bring in more personality. The reason I chose orange is because of a personal appearance (My hair being ginger) as that is how I stand out in the crowed and hopefully vice versa when applying for jobs.

OUGD502 - Studio Brief 1 - Website

Taking inspiration from much simpler, minimalistic websites such as the ones researched has allowed me to bring more characteristics within my own preference on modern website designs.

The use of line, shape and structure has brought my particular style out, that being no more than 2 spot colours, spacious not overwhelming but a controlled appearance. I wanted to reflect my personal logo onto the website. So whatever the design appeared to be I would work around it when approaching the website itself.

The website isn't complete or active but until I'm comfortable with the amount of work I have to offer then it'll be active. I'm hoping to have it running come 3rd year as it is more about making a name for myself and having the experience and portfolio when approaching clients/employe's.

I've related the typeface back to my personal appearance such as using slimmer typefaces. Helvetica & Futura Std are my most preferred typefaces at the moment for they bring a more aesthetic outcome, especially when going for a more spacious layout.

The layout approach to this website is something I would defintely consider when coming to my own. The fact it doesn't overwhelm you with infomation gives a more comfortable read. Allowing you to engage with the imagery more, the white background also working in favour to bring out the imagery, which is the main purpose of having your own website.

Monometric6 - Instagram

Monometri6
Is a monochromatic self-expressive interest of mine that lets my mind run free, in constructing shape without thought. The concept is linking geometric shapes to life itself but to be open to interpretation.

The name Monometri6 is a mix of (mono)chrome & geo(metric), I had to involve a number to make it available but I made use of it an decided to post a design on the 6th day (that being Saturday)

I started this blog just to keep me passionate & confident about graphics and the work I create, to make use of my spare time rather then waste it. Its coming to the stage where I need to promote myself & to network with the industry

The benefits of creating this blog are things such like getting more comfortable with my designs & in sharing them with everyone. To create a following that'll hopefully continue growing, I've had people ask me for the jpeg files of the designs so they can use it as desktop backgrounds. This definitely encourages me to do more & to present my work.
