Monometric6 - Logo Development & Final

The name Monometri6 is a mix of (mono)chrome & geo(metric), I had to involve a number to make it available but I made use of it and decided to post a design on the 6th day (that being Saturday)

I wanted to involve the monochromatic concept within the logo. it consisted of using two black & white geometric triangles which together communicates 'M' for Monometric. My blog is strictly geometric posts, therefore the logo would have to replicate it.

Clientele Taboo - Flyer Design - Flyer Final/Header

Clientele Taboo - Flyer Design - Displayed

Clientele Taboo - Flyer Design - Development

My close friends have their own nightclub in manchester called 'Taboo' I thought I would take advantage of the position and be the designer for their event, this will hopefully allow me to get recognition and more clients.
Designing flyers and posters for their upcoming events which have special guests attending such as Peter Wicks, Anton Powers and Max Denham.

This practice has given me experience in dealing with clients and their needs.

Noticing now that I spent far too much time working on variations for the client as they were very picky of which that wanted to go forward with.

From this experience with clients, I've learnt how I need to deal with them in future. Setting some rules before working with them. Just so my abilities to create are not exhausted when approaching designs.

  • Discuss prices
  • Offer 3 variations
  • Develop chosen variation
  • Create mock up

Studio Brief 2 - Self Branding

Think and Grow Rich

is a 1937 motivational personal development and self-help book by Napoleon Hill  inspired by a suggestion from Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie. While the title implies that this book deals with how to get rich.

Personal branding is the practice of people marketing themselves and their careers as brands While previous self-help management techniques were about self-improvement, the personal-branding concept suggests instead that success comes from self-packaging.

Because Individuals want to portray themselves a certain way to their social circle, they may work to maintain a certain image on their social media sites. As a result, social media enables the creation of an online identity that may not be completely true to the real self.

Studio Brief 2 - Self Branding Research

Self Branding Research
Aesop
Logo Designer

Andy Murray has gotten a branding agency to design him a logo, which reveals his initials and 77th year record of how long its taken for British man to win the Wimbledon tournament.

His new Logo design will be used on his On - Court Bag and training t shirts before applied to a range of clothing & merchandise.

Creating a modern looking design to capture Andy’s Energy & spirit when on court.

Using your Initials within your brand is quite a common design feature,
Weather its upside down or resembled differently, but because its your own logo
theres no limitations to how legible, illegible it is. with recognition will it grow and
have a much clever meaning behind the logo.
I tend to use shapes within most my designs so this captured my attention giving me
fewer idea designs.

I think texture is very important when coming to a business card only because its purpose is to
sell yourself to the potential client, so it has to have that attractive spark about it.
The card holds your Logo/Brand & contact or firm information.
First impression is important so make sure yours is unique,  for example this
business card has been embossed and been printed on some form of water colour paper.
I think this self branding logo is quite simple but still very effective,
from simply lowering the descenders line of the P & making the ascenders line of the H higher
from the X-height.
I would consider using something like this as a header on some form of social
media/Introduction.

Simply cutting down your initials to form a logo such as this
has allowed me to become a lot more motivated in creating my own initial logo design,
i think it will be interesting to see what my initials will look like after manipulating it.

Studio Brief 2 - Self Branding Logo experiments

Here are a few logo designs i have come up with so far, I've tried to create my initials 'PD' by just looking like I've used only the 'P'. If you can notice in the first row i've deleted a section of the D allowing the Stem of the P to integrate with the flow. Because of my initials it can be represented as my full name & Pete's Designs
